Eating at Disney

So we all know that eating at Disney can be costly. But paying a little more then what you typically pay at a restaurant you get an excellent meal usually all you can eat.

If you are a Florida resident they do offer a dining card that gets you a percent off your meals. If you have a large family this can save you a bundle it works at all parks and resorts. Even if you are just buying a banana use the card. Last i checked it was running about $80 but if you go often its well worth not so if you are only going a few days. Also you can purchase a double cheeseburger meal and ask for extra bun. They will charge $2 extra and 2 people can have single cheeseburgers instead spending another $7 for a meal.

If you are looking for good food Disney has plenty of places to choose from. You can get an all you can eat meal anywhere from $20-$30 a person for adults. Some of these even have characters. I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you~~~

My Ultimate favorite is the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge~ First i must say you have to make a reservation in advance if you have any hopes of eating here. Occasionally if you are the first one there at 5 you may get a walk in spot. This is a very family friendly restaurant. There all you can eat menu includes corn bread, salad, baked beans, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, bbq ribs, chicken, and pork. They do horse races for the kids around the restaurant on wooden horses while the parents hoot and holer. Once they had all the men make a circle around the place and do a little butter cup dance. Dont forget to ask for ketchup. If you do your waiter will yell as loud as they can that you need it and you will receive at least 12 bottles of ketchup. Everyone is extremely loud which is great when you have kids. Once some one spilled their drink and they taped it to the table and attached straws long enough to the persons mouth.

Robs favorite is Ohana at the Polynesian resort. This is also an all you can eat restaurant. Great with or with out kids. They have coconut races where the kids sweep the coconuts with little brums. The food is cooked on an open fire pit. You recieve 4 kids of meat and plenty of sides. All of these restaurants offers a child menu if they dont want the adult all you can eat items.

The Aloha Dinner show is another favorite at the Polynesian resort. This runs from $50-$60 but includes in all you can eat meal and show. You get bbq chicken, ribs, salad, pineapple, rice, veggies and a volcano desert. Drinks are also included. The show is amazing if you love the lua experience. They even twirl fire which is cool if you catch the second show.

If your looking for a character meal i suggest checking out the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom and The land. The land restaurant circles around while you are eating. We had all u can eat fish, turkey, veggies, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes. We saw Mickey, Goofy, and Chip n Dale.
Crystal Palace is a Buffet with a variety of meats and sides. They have a kids buffet as well. All of the other above restaurants the servers bring the food to your table and refill as needed. At crystal palace the characters are pooh, Tigger, piglet and eeyore.

At any restaurant you can order a small cake if you are celebrating something special. At the character dinners they can have them bring the cake out while you sing happy birthday. We even got a signed birthday card from pooh, tigger and his friends.
